My son bought this for his own use as he is really into learning melting points and boiling points of all kinds of things. It however has had an unplanned medical use for me. I was recently diagnosed with Raynauds and erythomelagia meaning monitoring my skin temperatures are VERY important to protect from wounds and possibly worse. This is very easy for me to use with swollen painful hands/joints and appears very accurate. You can set it to show you highs/lows of an area if you hold button down and keep scanning.

The manual does not cover how to set the emissivity value. This is a critical adjustment for accurate readings. Also, there is no apparent reset for saved values other than to pull the battery. Basically, the manual is of poor instructional quality.

Accurate temperature detection and smooth surfaces finishing. I like the smooth surface material provide comfortable feeling to my hand.

It’s as good as a fluke IR thermometer for less than half the price. It also comes with a case.

I bought the meter for my pizza oven. So far works great. I love the 50:1 spot ratio and the emissivity calibration. The 9 point laser makes it easy to see the spot being measured. I am very happy with the product. The only con I can remark on is the LCD is pretty dim when viewed in direct sunlight.

Nice unit! Well built, and easy to use. It's important to make sure the dots overlap, for best accuracy.

A lot of research went into this purchase. I had it narrowed down to this and one that looked remarkably similar. This became the easy choice. No issues with meter. Easy to use. Follow the instructions. If you are struggling for an accurate read, go back and reread the instructions.
