HP-883C Humidity Meter Moisture Meter LCD Digital Humidity Tester

We were having trouble knowing what to expect from the deliveries of wood to our home. We went two seasons having wood delivered and they all claimed their wood had been seasoned for 1 year plus and it was ready to burn. But once they dump it, we own it. We couldn't tell by feel, look, and weight alone, and time after time found ourselves having to burn wood that had a hard time catching because the moisture level was too high. But now that we have this handy little gadget, we can see that our wood stacks need a little more time before we use them. We have learned that we need to adjust the timing of our wood purchases to allow for additional time to season.

I thought I may have had a moisture problem in one of our bedroom exterior walls. This tool confirmed I did NOT. That alone eliminated many other questions and concerns. Worked well. I like the fact it has it's own onboard testing for accuracy. Simply remove the cap (small circuit board inside). Touch the probe points onto proper locations and it should give you a very specific electronic reading confirming the tools accuracy.

Excellent tool for woodworkers, using it you can tell if the lumber is still wet (fresh cut) or if it has already dried and ready to work, avoiding future headaches of wood turning of breaking.
Easy to use, nice, big display, it has the humidity table on the back of the device, so you don't have to guess with your wood.

Home Inspector here, I use this a few times per week. Unfortunately it only lasted about one year before it started reporting concrete or brick as wet even when dry (yet seems to work fine on drywall). A moisture meter is a must-have tool in my profession. Looked around at the competitive products but found none compelling so I'm buying another, hoping for more than a year. Recommend buying. :)
